Focus - High Performance Computing

High performance for scientific computing

High-performance computers are used in complex scenarios to process large amounts of data quickly or even in real time. The closer to reality the simulations are, the greater the computing power required. Artificial intelligence (AI), cell biology processes or quantum mechanics are just some of the areas in which so-called supercomputers are used. In addition to examples of computationally intensive applications such as simulations or AI technologies, this part of the exhibition shows how a supercomputer works, what it sounds like and what data from scientific projects is processed. Sustainability is a key issue, as high-performance computers consume a lot of energy. Discover our „server room“.
